What Actually Happens on Game Day?

Game Day starts right after school and continues through the end of the football game. Students stay at school, rehearse, eat together, uniform up, perform — and stay through the game. That's why they need to bring their band shirt, uniform pants, shoes, and socks to school on Game Day mornings.

Typical Game Day Schedule

• 3:30–4:30 — Field rehearsal
• 4:45–5:45 — Band dinner
• 5:45–6:15 — Call time + uniform up
• 6:15–7:00 — March out + pregame
• 1st Half — Band in the stands
• HALFTIME — Field show
• 3rd Quarter — Student break
• 4th Quarter — Back on duty
• After the Game — Cleanup + dismissal

What Parents Should Know

• Students stay at school after classes — plan for the full evening.
• Band dinner is part of the Game Day schedule. It's fun, builds community, and fuels the kids.
• Students should have everything they need for the performance with them in the morning.

Pickup Reality

• Football games don't end at an exact time. Students also need time afterward to put away instruments, uniforms and equipment before they are dismissed.
• Unlike middle school -- students are allowed to leave when done and an adult is not required to sign them out. Have a post-game transportation plan and a way to communicate with your student.
